From the Barkham Farm to Cranberry Lake Farm
The corn crib originally stood on the Barkham family farm at 1741 Silver Bell Road in Oakland Township. The property was owned by the Barkham family from the nineteenth century into the modern era.
When the historic structure was offered for preservation, volunteers dismantled it and moved its components to Cranberry Lake Farm.
Preserving an Agricultural Landmark
After the corn crib was moved, volunteers reconstructed the
structure on a new foundation. A new roof and fresh paint
helped restore the building and preserve another piece of
Oakland Township's agricultural history.
